Health and Wellness Public Speaker
THE 4TH LEADING RISK FACTOR FOR GLOBAL MORTALITY IS PHYSICAL INACTIVITY, YET STUDIES SHOW WE SIT FOR 7.7 HOURS PER DAY ON AVERAGE.**
How Paul D. Michaels became a Health and Wellness Public Speaker.
As a 49-year-old work-from-home father of three teenagers, Paul was an expert desk-sitter during the day and nights, and a “Daddy-Uber” driver after school. Frustration with weight gain, chronic back spasms, and a sedentary lifestyle took its toll. Paul blindly accepted that you keep pushing through when others depend on you.
The data from a newly purchased Fitbit, activity tracker, revealed hints of possible solutions which led Paul to experiment with changing “how” he approached his work-style. Fast forward five years and Paul has walked over 50% of the distance around the Earth and through his blog and podcast, has developed step-by-step work and lifestyle strategies to help other professionals reinvent their wellness, reclaim their time and live their best lives.

What event planners & attendees are saying…
“Paul takes a novel approach to learning by combining activity with teaching and coaching in large groups. This kind of speaker approach offers multiple ways for people to learn and apply this new knowledge, especially in a wellness context.”

I wasn't sure if I would learn anything new or would it require more out of me than I was willing to give. I am glad to say neither happened.
I am walking more by doing simple things like parking the car a distance from stores at the mall and walking a lot more each day. Also being aware of the things I eat.
Improving the quality of life is not as hard as I thought.

I have learned that Paul's speeches are always informational, memorable, and enjoyable.
He likes to throw in a few surprises like introducing us to an 80-year-old man and the 99-year-old woman who were fitter than I am now, and I work out!
Paul inspires people to think about their health objectives and how they can achieve their goals by implementing what he has taught us.

I'm usually skeptical of motivational speakers in general... 😉
I really liked the concept of quick "hacks" that allow you to get more steps during the day. I have already tried parking further away from the office building in the past, but turning every trip to the bathroom into a detour to get more steps was indeed a new idea, and surprisingly simple.
It renewed my commitment to more exercise and trying to get 10k steps done every day.
Anybody who is working a desk job should listen to this presentation!
After listening to Paul speak, it's obvious to me that the incremental difference that you get from simply paying attention to what you're NOT doing can make an exponential difference in your health.
